Meridian Mobile Massage
What should I prepare before my appointment?
You don’t need to prepare much! We provide everything needed, including the massage table, clean linens, and massage lotions/oils. All we ask is that you clear a comfortable space where the table can be set up (ideally 6x8 feet). Other than that, just set the room temperature to your comfort level and have any music or aromatherapy you’d like nearby.
How do you ensure hygiene and cleanliness?
We take cleanliness very seriously. We use fresh, clean linens for every appointment. Additionally, we wash our hands thoroughly before, after and during the session if needed.
What massage styles do you offer?
We offer a variety of styles, including Swedish, deep tissue, sports, and trigger point therapy. We can also customize the massage to focus on specific areas or address particular issues you’re experiencing, like tension or pain relief.
What are the benefits of an in-home massage
In-home massages allow you to enjoy the benefits of therapy without the stress of travel. After the massage, you can immediately rest, drink water, or take a bath without leaving your home, maximizing relaxation and the benefits to your muscles and mind.
What should I wear or expect during the massage?
You can undress to your comfort level – typically, clients undress to their underwear or remove clothing only as necessary. You’ll be fully covered with sheets during the massage, and we only uncover the specific area being worked on.
What types of payment do you accept, and are there cancellation fees?
Acceptable payments are cash, and digital payment options like Venmo, Cashapp or PayPal. Tipping is appreciated but not required. For cancellations, I ask for at least 24 hours’ notice; otherwise, a fee is due to equal half the session booked. We serve the general area around San Antonio and offer free travel within a 20 minute drive. You will know upfront if there is a travel charge. Please be mindful of traffic during rush hour.
What about insurance?
Please be aware that some insurance companies will reimburse you for session paid if there is a doctors' order. Please contact your doctor and insurance company for more information. Also, some FSA allow massages. Please confirm all of this with your insurance before booking your session. Receipts are provided if needed.
What does research say about massage therapy?
Pain Management
A systematic review found that massage therapy significantly reduces chronic pain, particularly for conditions such as low back pain and fibromyalgia. Regular sessions over time were shown to improve function and reduce pain intensity in many individuals, making it a complementary approach to standard treatments.
Mental Health Benefits
Massage therapy has demonstrated potential to alleviate stress, anxiety, and depression. Studies suggest it promotes relaxation and lowers cortisol levels, which can improve overall mental well-being. It's also been beneficial in improving mood in cancer patients and individuals with chronic conditions.
